Wolfson College in the University of Oxford has an excellent reputation for its sponsorship of literature, visual art and music. The Wolfson Creative Arts Fellowship, which was inaugurated in 1986, is part of the college's commitment to supporting the arts proactively. The Fellowship offers its incumbent financial and other support for two to three years. During this period of patronage, the Wolfson Creative Arts Fellow is free to pursue independent artistic activity.

Kathryn Whitney was elected to the Creative Arts Fellowship in October 2002, holding the position until September 2005. As Creative Arts Fellow, Kathryn took further advanced training in London and abroad, expanded her repertoire, recorded her first recital disk, and completed two international recital tours.
