Welcome to the
web pages of the Island Tour 2004.
This is the
official site of Kathryn
Whitney's recital tour of:
'An
Autumn Evening of English Song'
These
pages contain everything you will need to know about the Island Tour
2004, which will take in cities and towns across Vancouver Island
and the Gulf Islands on Canada's beautiful West Coast in September
and October of this year.
Tour
The
links on the left offer information about specific concerts,
including dates, times, how to find the concert venue and where you
can buy tickets in advance. You can also find information here
about the program, which changes as we
move around the island, and which will be quite different by the last
night of the tour.
Music
& Musicians
Throughout
the tour, we will be performing a delightful collection of beautiful
songs in English by both British and Canadian composers.
The music & musicians link leads you to information about the
songs and composers featured.
This is also the link to follow to learn a bit about each of the performers
you will hear along the way.
Fun
Since
classical music is a wonderful way to bring people together, and to
make the tour as fun for you as it will be for us, we have also
created two interactive pages: the Chat Page
and Frockwatch. The Chat Page connects
you with other music lovers from around the Island, while Frockwatch
challenges the sleuth in you and offers you the chance to win...
Friends
Finally, we have
a special page for the Friends of the Island
Tour, who have been very generous in assisting us with
meeting our principal costs and by offering essential services in
various ways. We are very grateful to these individuals and
businesses, without whose help the tour simply would not have taken
place. Please take a moment to look at this page, and to consider
joining our list of much-appreciated Patrons of the Arts!
Feedback
If you have any
questions about the tour, or if you encounter any trouble using
these web pages, please don't hesitate to contact
us. You can write to us via the the contact page.
We hope you will
find these pages informative and useful, and we look forward to
seeing you at one of our concerts!
